A Gorgeous Tulino Home

Posted in Uncategorized at 10:54 am by Chris

Oh my GOD! This is a beauthiful house, certainly the most gorgeous Tulino home I’ve ever seen. I don’t know who lives here, but I would be more than happy to come visit for Thanksgiving ;) !

The Tulino Residence was built in 1997 in Woodland Hills, CA. The “clients” are described as “both artists and designers, with extensive collections and eclectic tastes.” That sounds like my family, and the residence rocks!

The architecture firm that designed the home was Gary Gepner & Associates in Calabases California. Good Job!

Antonia Maria Tulino (A. M. Tulino)

Posted in Uncategorized at 2:33 pm by Chris

If you search the internet for “Tulino”, you will no doubt come across references to such complex topics as Asymptotic Analysis of Improved Linear Receivers for BPSK-CDMA Subject to Fading and Blind adaptive multiuser detection for asynchronous dual-rate DS/CDMA systems. These topics are studied and written about by a prominent Tulino. I was lucky enough to discover a short bio of Antonia Maria Tulino on the IEEE Information Theory Society web site.

Antonia Maria Tulino (M’00) was born in Naples, Italy, on September 12, 1971. She received the Dr. Eng. degree (with honors) from the Università degli Studi di Napoli “Federico II,” Naples, Italy, in 1995 and the Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from the Seconda Università degli Studi di Napoli, Naples, in 1999.
In 1999, she was a Research Scientist at the Center for Wireless Communications (CWC), Oulu, Finland, and in 2000, she was a Postdoctoral Visiting Researcher at Princeton University, Princeton, NJ. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor at the University of Sannio, Sannio, Italy. Her current research and study interests lie in the area of statistical signal processing, with emphasis on code-division multiple-access systems.

I must say that I am impressed and proud of my family name when I see such an extreme expertise in a difficult technical field like this.

I received an interesting email today from Carmine Tulino.

hi Christ,

I’m sorry, but non speak english.
bye.

Translated using Google’s Translation Tool, which did not seem to do a great job, but it’s better than I can do myself.

hi Christ,

This translation really is horrible and if anyone can help improve it, I would appreciate it.

Some interesting facts and links mined from this email:
Nola, Italy is at the heart of the Giglio (not Gigilo) Feast and the story of San Paolino and his return to Nola with the men of the town from captivity.
If you are staying in Nola, you might want to check out the Hotel Pamaran, it seems very nice!

Richard Tulino’s Barbershop

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:53 am by Chris

Richard Tulino’s Barbershop is in Ashtabula, Ohio about 6 or 7 blocks from Lake Erie. With a population of 20,962 and eleven barber shops in the town, Richard probably has about 1905 heads that he could work on. Wish him luck and maybe send him a Christmas Card from a fellow Tulino! Here is the address, just copy and paste into your list:

Teaching 2nd Grade

Posted in Uncategorized at 1:10 am by Chris

Mrs. Susan Tulino is a 2nd grade teacher at Eugene Padan Elementary School , home of Padan Panther Pride. Susan seems to be a fairly recent graduate of CSU Sacramento. (Personally, I always though California would be a better place than the cold Northeast for Italians, who are used to warmer climates, good wine, and the sea.)

Mrs. Tulino runs a tight ship in Room 5. There are rules and promises in this second grade class. I love the Pinky Promise(I’ve got to know if you hold up your pinky while reciting it.):

I will be respectful.
I will be responsible.
I will treat others the way I want them to treat me.

Mrs. Tulino seems to be doing a good job and enjoying it too. Congratulations and good luck! The rest of you Tulinos should make sure you can handle the current spelling list. I did OK with this one, but I will be checking back to keep my spelling skills sharp.

Villa Tulino Wines

Posted in Uncategorized at 1:41 pm by Chris

There is a vineyard, Colle di Maggio (Hill of May), which produces at least two fine wines:
VILLA TULINO BIANCO - COLLE DI MAGGIO and
VILLA TULINO ROSSO - COLLE DI MAGGIO

If you can figure out how to find these in the US or get these to the US, please let me know. Apparently, this winery was founded by Domenico Tulino. They seem to make small batches of organic wine. I sent an email to the winery. I will let you know if I hear back. In the meantime, the Colle di Maggio web site has lots of information about the winery.

SUOR GIUSEPPINA TULINO

Posted in Uncategorized at 10:15 am by Chris

I can’t read italian, but apparently, SUOR GIUSEPPINA TULINO was honored for some work helping poor children in the third world. The article is here.

A reader was kind enough to provide a translation which is much better than the translation provided by Google. Thank you M. Montana:

Suor Giuseppina Tulino
“The Founder at Asmara in Eritrea of the Sister’s Congregation of the Good
Samaritan for responisbilties on behalf of thousands of orphans, assisting
8000 and the gathering of children in the streets of Asmara”

Asmara is the capital city of Eritrea. It is bordered by Sudan to the north and west, Ethiopia to the south, Djibouti to the south-east and the Red Sea to the north and north-east. Apparently, Suor Giuseppina Tulino was instrumental in helping thousands of orphaned children in this poor country. Hats off to her!

Tulino Family Tree

Posted in Uncategorized at 11:19 pm by Chris

Here is a starting point for a family tree. I have Generations Family Tree by Sierra Home and I can track all kinds of information and create charts and reports. I don’t have a lot of date information and I don’t keep in close contact with a lot of the people on here. So if you have any information that would help complete this picture, especially name corrections and birth dates, I will update this and publish it. If you would like other formats, just send me an email.

Welcome

Posted in Uncategorized at 7:21 pm by Chris

Welcome to Tulino.net!

This web site is owned and maintained by Chris Tulino. The intention of this site is to create a place available for any Tulino to visit and say hello.

I can create an email address for you, which I can forward to whatever email address you would like, as long as you are a tulino. For instance, I can direct tarra@tulino.net to whatever address you would like, except that my sister is already using that address.
